So cheap?

So I asked my dad what is he giving mom for her birthday and he brings up Gucci since my mom wanted that. I was planning on giving my mom this heart bracelet from Kay’s since $150 is my budget. It’s $100 and my dad goes “Why so cheap?” umm excuse me?! I don’t make 18 bucks an hour like you. Anyways we went on the Gucci website and most of them was in the 1,000 range and he says its okay. I told him what about me? and he goes thats for your school. -___- He said when I’m done with school he’ll buy me whatever (: haha I’m trying to convince him to buy me an iPhone 4s cause i NEED a new phone.
